Thank you for visiting our website. There are two different areas of our organisation. First our general outdoor activities that are explained in the menu above and secondly the adaptive bike and off road wheelchair hub called Access Mhor Cairngorms.
We are a mobile outdoor activity provider for people of all ages and abilities based in the Cairngorms National Park, Scotland. This means we use adaptive equipment and a 'can do' approach to make the outdoors accessible to all. We offer a large range of outdoor activities as taster sessions, skills courses, multi activity programs or as part of local clubs. These can be for individuals, families, groups of friends, schools and organisations. Whether you want a fun taster session or would like to develop your skills to go out independently we have an activity for you. If you click on an activity a green box on the right will tell you more about who it is suitable for, costs, and locations.
Our staff have over ten years experience working with people of all abilities in the outdoor activity sector. We understand the importance of venues with fully accessible facilities, methods of transfer, postural support and differing communication needs. We believe the outdoors should be available to all and ensure our activities encourage independence and fun.
We are an AAP for the Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Award at all levels for training and assessment and provide a number of Gold Residentials in the summer. We can take referrals as an activity agreement provider for the Highland Council and have been providing sessions for disabled people with self directed support. As part of our activities we can offer the NICAS Climbing Award, National Navigation Award and Paddle Performance Awards.
Able2Adventure is an accredited provider of the BMC Climbing For All course and the SCA Paddle-Ability training. We sit on a number of national committees to help support access to the outdoors for disabled people in Scotland and offer consultancy services and disability awareness training for organisations such as the Cairngorms National Park.
If you have any questions or can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We offer a range of land based and water based activities. Each activity explains the adaptive equipment and accessibility.
We provide all sorts of courses from the Alternative Curriculum and Adventure Therapy to the John Muir Award and Skills based courses.
Our training courses include the BMC Climbing for All and Disability Awareness. They can be booked as individuals or groups/organisations.
Throughout the year we organise and support a number of disability adventure sport events such as the Cairngorms Chair Challenge and Wheels 2 Water.
Adventure plans for 2023! Do you want to hear about our activities and courses for the next year?
